Patient Reviews

“I've been going here for over two years and have always had a great experience. This office is very chic and modern. They must have had their patients in mind when building this location. Every room is equipt with a flat screen TV and headset so that you can watch your favorite show while you get your teeth worked on. This really helps make any procedure pass quickly because the last thing anyone wants to hear is the sound of the drill. Another thing I enjoy is that their chairs have little massagers that will help sooth and calm you through your procedure. The receptionist here is very knowledgeable and will take the time to explain what is and isn't covered by your insurance.I love that they have always been punctual. You'll never sit around and wait past your appointment time.Dr. Aaron Breaux is gentle and will make every procedure as close to painless as possible.” - Sandra L.

Full & Partial Dentures

If you're missing teeth, you probably don’t feel much like smiling, and we think that’s a shame. Gaps in your smile can lower your self-esteem, cause you to avoid interacting with others, and just generally interfere with your ability to enjoy life.

As if all that weren’t enough, missing teeth can also make you look older because there’s not enough support for your cheeks and lips, causing your face to look pinched and older. Removable full or partial dentures designed by Dr. Aaron Breaux can help restore your smile and improve your quality of life.

Types of Dentures

Full and partial dentures are appliances placed in the mouth to replace natural teeth and provide support for the cheeks and lips. Most dentures today are custom-made using acrylic and are fabricated in different ways.

  • Conventional dentures are made after all the teeth have been extracted and gum tissue has been allowed to heal.
  • Immediate dentures are created prior to extraction and inserted immediately after the teeth are extracted. In this case, the tissue will be left to heal under the denture.
  • Upper dentures fit the upper arch and use acrylic that covers the roof of the mouth (palate) and matches the natural tone of your soft tissue.
  • Lower dentures are horseshoe shaped and make space for the tongue.

Upper dentures are usually more stable than lowers because they cover more surface area, allowing them to fit securely. Lowers tend to be less stable since they cover the smaller area, and movement of the tongue can unseat the denture. If this is a concern, a good solution is to place dental implants, which allows the denture to solidly attach.

Comfortable, Natural-Looking Dentures

At THE Smile Lounge, Dr. Breaux designs natural-looking dentures that use the most updated dental materials available. Modern dentures are lightweight acrylic and tinted to blend naturally with your gums. Dr. Breaux’s skill and attention to detail allow him to work with our lab to create dentures that look as close to natural teeth as possible.

Before we start the dentures process, we’ll talk to you about your expectations and how we can help you achieve your goals. We’ll work with you to find the right tooth shape, size, color, and positioning to bring out the best in your smile. We won’t be satisfied until we know you’re completely thrilled with the results.

Getting Used to New Dentures

Getting used to wearing dentures requires an adjustment period. New dentures always feel a little awkward and bulky at first, especially if you’ve never worn dentures before. You’ll need some time to get used to speaking and eating with them.

It’s a good idea to start off by eating softer foods until you get used to the fit and feel of your new dentures. While you’re home alone, practice reading and speaking out loud. It will take a little time, so be patient with yourself and realize that you’ll soon be smiling and laughing confidently again.
