A Great Dentist

Patient Reviews

“I've been going here for over two years and have always had a great experience. This office is very chic and modern. They must have had their patients in mind when building this location. Every room is equipt with a flat screen TV and headset so that you can watch your favorite show while you get your teeth worked on. This really helps make any procedure pass quickly because the last thing anyone wants to hear is the sound of the drill. Another thing I enjoy is that their chairs have little massagers that will help sooth and calm you through your procedure. The receptionist here is very knowledgeable and will take the time to explain what is and isn't covered by your insurance.I love that they have always been punctual. You'll never sit around and wait past your appointment time.Dr. Aaron Breaux is gentle and will make every procedure as close to painless as possible.” - Sandra L.

Crowns & Bridges

At THE Smile Lounge, we focus on excellent oral health, but we also understand that looks are important to everyone. All restorative treatments we offer are done with an eye toward esthetics. Our up-to-date materials and techniques make it easy for you to enjoy a smile that’s both healthy and beautiful.

May of the restorative and cosmetic procedures we perform use dental porcelain. You may think of porcelain as being a very delicate material, but dental porcelain is actually quite durable. It stands up to all the normal daily wear and tear, and with proper care, porcelain restorations can last for many years.

Porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges, and tooth-colored composite fillings can all be shaded to closely match the color of your natural teeth. The translucent quality of porcelain is also similar to that of dental enamel, so your new restoration will blend seamlessly with surrounding teeth.

This gives us the freedom to create a customized restoration that is made just for you. Now you can have dental work done without announcing it to the world!

If you’d like to learn more about our natural-looking custom restorations, please give our Bakersfield dental office a call. We’ll be happy to arrange a consultation to discuss the ways our restorative treatments can benefit you.

Dental Cleanings & Exams

The only way you can know for sure whether you have gum disease is by having a thorough exam from your dentist. Gum disease does not always present with symptoms, so you may still have a periodontal infection even if you’re not showing signs of the disease.

However, there are a few common symptoms that are a strong indication that gum disease is present:

  • Your gums bleed when you brush, floss, or bite down on something hard or crunchy.
  • You’ve noticed that an area of your gum is red, inflamed, or swollen.
  • Your gums seem to be receding or pulling away from your teeth.
  • You experience chronic, persistent bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth
  • Your teeth feel loose.

Gum disease progresses through several stages. If we catch it in its earliest stage, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan, including thorough professional cleanings and follow-up visits. Later stages may require a deep cleaning, antibiotic therapy, and more frequent visits for cleanings. In some cases, Dr. Breaux may refer you to a specialist for advanced treatment.

If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, please call our Bakersfield dental office to arrange a professional cleaning and exam. The sooner we start treatment, the sooner we can get your oral health back on track.

Dental Implant Restoration

Dental implants are one of the most important advances in technology we’ve seen in a long time. There are several good reasons for the popularity of dental implants; they resolve the aesthetic problem of a missing tooth, are completely functional, and act and look just like a natural tooth.

The secret to the success of dental implants is the small titanium post that is surgically placed in your jaw by one of the top specialists in the Bakersfield area. The titanium used for implants is the same medical grade material that has been used successfully for years as replacement joints.

The property of titanium that makes it perfect for dental implants is that it’s biocompatible. The body accepts this man-made material, which allows the titanium post to fully integrate with the jawbone and tissue.

When the implant has fully integrated, Dr. Breaux completes the process by creating a dental crown that’s securely attached to the implant. The result is a strong and durable replacement that acts and looks like a natural tooth.

Dental implants are pretty remarkable, but they may not be the best solution for your needs. Please contact our office, and a helpful member of our team will be happy to arrange a consultation so that we can answer your questions and make recommendations that fit your specific needs.

KöR Teeth Whitening

We’re pleased to offer professional teeth whitening, one of easiest and most effective ways to brighten a discolored smile. Teeth whitening is affordable, and dramatic results can be achieved in a matter of weeks.

At THE Smile Lounge, we offer KöR teeth whitening. KöR is remarkable because the way it whitens is unlike anything on the market. The proprietary gel is designed to penetrate deep inside the dental enamel to lift even the most stubborn stains. KöR even treats teeth stained by tetracycline use.

If you want the brightest, longest lasting smile, professional teeth whitening is the way to go. Over-the-counter products claim to produce amazing results, and it may be tempting to give them a try. But you’ll spend a lot of time and money on these products without ever achieving the results you’re looking for.

For one thing, over-the-counter products use a much lower concentration of whitener compared to the formulation we use at our Bakersfield dental office. Also, our whitening treatments include a tray that is completely customized to fit your teeth perfectly. This means that the KöR whitening gel comes into contact with all surfaces of your teeth evenly.

A professional teeth whitening treatment is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself. You’ll be amazed at the way a fresh, bright smile can totally transform the way you feel about yourself. Please give us a call, and we’ll be happy to arrange your next dental cleaning!

Night Guard Therapy

Occasional teeth grinding is usually associated with stress and isn’t really anything to worry about. However, if you’re grinding your teeth through the night and experience chronic headaches or shoulder and neck pain upon waking, you may benefit from a simple oral appliance available at THE Smile Lounge.

Chronic clenching and grinding of your teeth isn’t just annoying; it can actually create serious oral health problems. Some of these are misalignment of your dental bite, chipped or cracked teeth, and even TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder).

Teeth grinding (also referred to as bruxism or bruxing) may be caused by injury or trauma to the temporomandibular joint, a misaligned dental bite, or muscle tension.

A misaligned dental bite can result in excess force placed on one side of your mouth. When this occurs, you don’t bite down evenly on all teeth, and your jaw has to shift from its normal position to bring the rest of your teeth together.

A thorough exam with Dr. Breaux is the best way to evaluate your situation and pinpoint the underlying cause for your grinding and clenching. In many cases, we can customize a simple appliance called an occlusal splint that will prevent your teeth from coming into contact with each other during sleep.
